This Shaker wall
clock was made from native cherry. Both
sides are
thru-mortised into the top and bottom of the case and secured with
wedges.
The back is frame and panel
construction.
A 14-day key-wind
movement keeps the time and strikes out the hours and
once on the half hours.
Multiple coats of
shellac are hand-rubbed over an initial coat of oil finish
followed by a
beeswax and oil topcoat.
The dimensions of
the clock are 33” in height by 10 ½” wide and 5 ¼’’ in depth.
